A Bark Above offers puppy school, group dog training classes and private dog training and behaviour consulting to the Ballarat and surrounding areas. Using fear free techniques and following the Susan Freidman’s Hierarchy of Procedure for Humane and Effective Practice, you can be sure that training through A Bark Above will strength your relationship and bond with your dog.   

We strive to stay upto date with the latest information and dog training methods which gives us the tools to modify unwanted and undesirable behaviours into more appropriate behaviours. We train without the use of gadgets or adverse methods, instead endeavour to understand why your dog is displaying this behaviour and use force free techniques to work towards your goal.  

In home/private consults, which gives you a tailored plan to work towards long term solutions for you and your dog. 

We know each dog is different, therefore respond to different training methods, so strive to give you a plan that works for you and your dog. 

Group and puppy school classes that are focused on fun and informative sessions to help create life skills for your dog. These are run as small groups to give owners and dogs/ puppy’s the best class possible.  

A Bark Above, is owned and operated by Sharni, a Qualified IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) Trainer, who is nationally recognised in Dog Behaviour and Training through the AVT and Canine Behaviour Practitioner certified through the International School for Canine Psychology and Behaviour. Sharni has 8 years’ experience working with dogs in a variety of roles, which can give you confidence that I am confident handling and working with dogs of all sizes and breeds.  

She is passionate about giving owners the knowledge to understand their dogs and create a better bond.
