5 Week Course
The first 16 weeks of a puppy’s life are a critical time for social development. Throughout this stage they go through their socialisation period and by setting your puppy up to succeed through this period can help them grow into a well-adjusted adult dog.
With controlled and fun socialisation during your puppies’ critical periods, we can help increase the chance of our puppies growing up into well-balanced adult dogs.
They key to socialisation is to keep it fun with your puppy, and that’s what we're here to do! Our puppy school located in Ballarat is centred around controlled, fun, positive socialisation.
Throughout this 5-week course we will cover:
- Puppy play - Building good social skills for your puppy with controlled play with other puppies. We also teach owners the basics of play.
- Socialisation & Exposure - Fun positive socialisation with people & puppies as well as exposure to surfaces, sounds, handling & grooming and sights.
- Training general skills - Basic training of general skills such as marker, sit, settle, attention, building engagement, loose lead walking and more.
- Navigating the puppy stage - Giving you guidance on how to troubleshoot behaviours normally seen during puppyhood
- Communication - Learning how to read your dog’s 'language' so you are able to be their voice.
- Preventing problematic behaviours - Such as resource guarding and separation related behaviours.
- How to create the best bond between you and your puppy - Creating a trusting bond is fundamental within you and your puppy’s relationship
- Educating owners in general dog ownership - Including health and safety
When: Tuesday or Wednesday nights at 6pm
Where: Complete K9 - Delacombe
Cost: $160
Length: 45 minute sessions
Also includes a compulsory introduction video and booklet.
With the goal of helping you guide and teach your puppy how to navigate through our human world, while creating the best bond possible is key during these 5 weeks.
Our classes are kept small to ensure you and your puppy get as much from the class as possible.
To be eligible for this class puppies are required to be:
- They must be aged between 8-16 weeks
- Had their first vaccination
- Be in good health
- If your puppy is displaying any reactive behaviour towards other dogs or people please contact us prior to booking to discuss this.
Please note: The training area will be thoroughly cleaned prior to the class to ensure safety for all puppies attending.

Group DOG TRAINING classes BALLARAT
Foundation Class - 5 week course
Our 5 week foundation training class is ideal for dogs and puppies who are looking to progress their training further. We focus on building skills in real life situations to make good canine citizens.
This class is suitable for all abilities and ages but is targeted towards dogs aged 5 months to 1 year. This class gives your dog the foundation skills to move into our graded classes.
Throughout this class we focus on:
- Training general skills - Basic training of general skills such as marker, sit, settle, attention, building engagement, loose lead walking and more while adding distance, distraction, and duration to these skills.
- Socialisation & Exposure - Fun positive socialisation with people & dogs as well as a variety of exposure work in real life scenarios.
- Communication - Learning how to read your dog’s 'language' so you are able to be their voice.
- Enhancing your relationship - Creating a trusting bond is fundamental within you and your dog’s relationship. We’ll give you skills to enhance your relationship.
- Educating owners in general dog ownership - Including health and safety.
We specialise in creating a fun and supportive environment for owners and dogs to learn.
When: Saturday Morning at 9:30am

Length: 1-hour sessions
Requirements:
- Up to date C5 vaccination
- In good health
- Social with humans and other dogs (may be suitable for dogs with reactivity issues, contact us to discuss your needs)

Weekly Graded Group Dog Training Class
Weekly group dog training classes continues training from our foundation class.
Running as IMDT Partnership Graded Classes, this gives you 6 different levels of training to work through with your dog. As you progress through the levels, the skills and criteria increases in difficulty, which means you progress to from beginners to advanced skills.
Fun, force free, challenging and rewarding training class for you and your dog ran by Sharni, a Qualified and Accredited IMDT Trainer.

When: Saturday morning at 8:30am
Class Length: 45 minutes
Cost: $27 per class or $150 for 6 pre-paid classes
Our weekly group classes are running as casual classes and all foundation class and puppy school graduates are eligible to attend.
